Marina Goewey serves as General Counsel of Thomas, Fisher & Edwards, where she provides strategic legal oversight and leads initiatives across compliance, operations, and firm growth. In addition to her in-house contributions, Marina provides services to the firm’s clients through deed preparation and trust funding, while also offering outside general counsel services to the firm’s business clients.
Marina graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University and earned her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2019. She began her legal career in Greenville, South Carolina, practicing insurance defense and real estate law, where she advised clients on residential and commercial transactions, title issues, and property-related disputes. She later served as Assistant General Counsel at a leading automotive finance company, where she led the regulatory legal team and advised on regulatory implementation, product development, and examination readiness. Marina is recognized for her practical, business-minded approach to legal challenges. She is skilled at translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable strategies. Her combined experience in real estate and transactional work provides a balanced perspective on risk, compliance, and client service.
Outside of her legal work, Marina is deeply rooted in the Greenville community. She has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, United Way, and Harvest Hope and is an active member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church. Marina has also been honored by Greenville Business Magazine© in Legal Elite of the Upstate and is an active member of the Greenville Bar Association. She is an avid college football fan and has developed a recent passion for playing Mahjong. She lives in Greenville with her husband, Jordan, son, Henry, Boston Terrier, Ace, and French Bulldog, Bruce.
