His practice includes estate planning, business transactions, and tax planning strategies. He works closely with clients to develop and implement comprehensive plans, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and trust decanting documents tailored to their individual goals.
In addition to his estate planning work, Jake has experience supporting a wide range of business transactions. His background includes assisting with restructuring businesses, negotiating asset and stock purchase transactions, and advising on business formation and structure. He regularly works with entities such as limited liability companies, corporations, and professional associations, and has experience preparing key governance and operational documents including operating agreements, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, bylaws, and equity restriction agreements.
Jake earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was actively involved as a member of the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal and the Pro Bono Board. During law school, he also participated in the John Belton O’Neal Inn of Court and received multiple honors, including the G.G. Dowling Student Award. He later obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law. Jake is a member of the South Carolina Bar. Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, their two children, and two dogs.
